Jungle Trekking in North Sumatra

Breathe through the fresh air inside the Gunung Leuser National Park where you will be heading on this tour. Take a walk around the jungle where, together with your guide, learn the inhabitants of the National Park. From wild birds to the macaque, explore Gunung Leuser National Park like no other!

From your hotel in Bukit Lawang area, Forest Ranger will pick you up and you start to walk alongside the riverside until the crossing point where canoe awaits and take you to the other side of the river.

After a short hike, you will arrive at what used to be a central rehabilitation area that has been disbanded after all animal returned to the wild. In this area, you might have a chance to see the orangutan swinging freely trees-by-trees. If you’re lucky, you will see more animals such as Thomas Leaf monkey, gibbons, macaques (longtail and pigtail), flying squirrels, hornbills, and even peacocks. However, as with any wildlife, no guarantees can be made that you can see the Orangutans.

Afterwards, continue the hike and enjoy the sight and smell of the rainforest, occasionally the noise emitted from bugs or birds will accompany your trip. The ranger will help you learn more about Gunung Leuser National Park by explaining about the plants, animals, or flowers along the way. Return to your hotel afterwards.
